Retail conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim has announced it will be giving 500 lucky UAE residents a Nol card with Dh 25 credit if they will turn over 50 plastic bottles at the Mall of the Emirates for recycling.

Since the company is working towards banning single-use plastics, the conglomerate also has a recycling machine which is expected to minimize its carbon footprint.

“The pilot was launched in MAF’s partnership with Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and was inaugurated by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister for Climate Change and Environment, on November 5,” Chief Sustainability Officer, Majid Al Futtaim – Holding Ibrahim Al-Zu’bi, told Khaleej Times.

“Based on the success of the pilot, the progra will eventually be linked to MAF’s loyalty program, Share, where customers will get points for recycling efforts” the company official added. (TN)
