Jones Bridge in Manila gets facelift

The historic Jones Bridge in Binondo, Manila has been getting attention.

Currently undergoing a facelift, the bridge has been given a P20-million budget for its restoration program.

Although it has not yet been formally launched, a couple has already made it a venue for their prenuptial shoot.

According to GMA News, Peach Frost Studio shared that the couple Meyrick and Bernardine lived near the bridge. The new street lights gave it a “dreamy” and a Paris-like theme.

The photos reposted by Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso on his verified Facebook page got 102,000 plus reactions and over 7,000 plus shares.

“Maraming salamat po sa couple, Meyrick at Bernardine, pati na rin po sa Peach Frost Studio sa appreciation niyo po sa ating efforts para pagandahin ang ating makasaysayang Jones Bridge!!! Ang ganda po ng pre-nup!,” he wrote on the caption.

Manila PIO head Julius Leonen, in a report by Dobol B News TV, said lamp posts and ornamental plants have already been installed on the bridge.

The restoration project includes the installation of 80 new lamp posts.

Some parts of the bridge will also be cemented and painted.
