Five PNPA cadets under investigation for alleged hazing

The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) has placed five cadets under investigation for their alleged involvement in a hazing incident that landed one cadet in the hospital.

PNPA Spokesman Lt. Col. Byron Allatog identified the five cadets as the upperclassmen of the victim Cadet 4th Class John Desiderio.

These cadets are now under isolation pending their investigation. They are also made to explain within 24 hours before they will face the administrative charges, according to media reports.

Allatog added that the Silang Police have also talked to he Desiderio on the filing of criminal charges against the cadets for violating the anti-hazing law.

Desiderio was rushed to the PNP General Hospital last Oct. 29 then transferred to the East Avenue Medical Center after he complained of severe stomach ache.

He is now out of the hospital.
