Samsung to introduce ‘clamshell foldable’ smartphone concept

Samsung has introduced its new mobile device in a ‘clamshell’ foldable design.

In a video shown on its Developer Conference held last Tuesday, Samsung said that the Galaxy Fold smartphone transforms from a flip phone that opens vertically to one that expands horizontally.

The mobile giant did not elaborate on the phone’s additional details.

A Samsung spokesperson told CNN that it is now “working on advancing new foldable form factors and bringing a new foldable device to market.”

Last September, the Samsung Galaxy Fold hit the stores after months of delay. Some customers have complained that the Fold’s screen broke after they removed the protective film.

Samsung responded by delaying the original launch of the device.

Changes in the smartphone model have failed in the past, resulting to mobile users sticking to their old phones longer.

Tech giants Samsung and Huawei have promised its customers to develop phone models like foldable ones to give a phone that would fulfill their customers’ better watching and/or viewing experience on a gadget that can still fit inside someone’s pocket.
