At least three persons died following the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao on Thursday morning, according to the Office of Civil Defense Region 12.
The fatalities accounted for were from Makilala town.
The magnitude 6.5 earthquake jolted the southern part of Mindanao past 9 a.m.
There are still no figures available regarding the number of injured and missing at this time as rescue operations are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council underscored that the quake that occurred on Thursday morning was not an aftershock of the previous earthquakes that struck the region.
