Duterte confirms ‘cracks’ in his home came from previous earthquakes

President Duterte clarified that the ‘crack’s that were seen on social media came was caused by prior earthquakes.

The president likewise furthered that a new crack is formed each time a new earthquake occurs.

“Well, there are cracks even during — as early as about three earthquakes ago. Every time it happens, may bagong crack. Pero crack lang naman. It’s — makita mo ng ano linya,” said President Duterte as per a tweet from the Philippine Star’s Christina Mendez.

Earlier, Senator Bong Go revealed to the public that there were visible cracks in the house of President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City after the earthquake on Thursday morning in an interview on Super Radyo’s DZBB.

“‘Yung bahay ni Pangulo may crack na rin. Kasi housing ‘yun, Teacher’s Village, first floor lang po ‘yun inextend lang po niyan, nilagyan lang niya ng 2nd floor. So hindi talaga siya designed na para sa two floors, dinagdagan lang,” said Go, former special assistant to the President.

The senator added that the walls of his own home may have cracks too. But he added that he still has to check his house.

Go also said that he received word that a building that is about one kilometer away from the President’s house collapsed.
