Isko Moreno honors pedicab driver for returning money worth Php1.26 million

The Manila City government today honored a pedicab driver for returning a bag with Php1.26 million and luxury watch to a tourist.

Forty-two-year-old Benjie Ordanza reached out to Manila Councilor Darwin Sia expressing intention to return the bag full of money.

“This type of fellow is very rare,” Moreno said in a press conference.

Moreno said that the man’s honesty is commendable and one-of-a-kind in these challenging times.

He could have done things other than this. It is literally very rare especially nowadays,” Moreno said.

Moreno gave him a reward of Php100,000.

Moreno said the money came from him and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna.

The Manila mayor also gave Ordanza a jacket and a promise of a permanent job in City Hall.

(TN)
