NDRRMC: 1 dead, 43 hurt in Cotabato quake

A man has died after a 6.6-magnitude quake struck Cotabato, 13 days after a 6.3-magnitude quake hit the region.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that the fatality has been identified as 66-year-old Nestor Narciso.

The Council also reported that 30 individuals were injured in Kidapawan City while 13 others were wounded in M’lang North Cotabato.

PHIVOLCS reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 06.92°N, 125.05°E – 026 km N 73° E of Tulunan in Cotabato that was also felt in nearby provinces and cities, including Davao City.

The NDRRMC said a total of 23 local government units had suspended classes as aftershocks are expected.

There is no report regarding the cost of damage as of posting time.
