Desperate search ops underway as 26-year-old man jumped off cruise ship

The United States Coast Guard has sent a search and rescue team to find the 26-year-old man who allegedly jumped from his room while onboard of a Carnival Cruise ship.

The incident took place 47 miles off Texas coast at around 8:45 in the evening.

The Coast Guard released the cruise ship from the search overnight and continued its journey to Conzumel, Mexico.

Search and rescue team is being aided by a helicopter and a fixed wing aircraft to spot the missing man.

The company said that the man was with his family onboard the shop.

Witnesses told ABC News said that search operations would be challenging because it will be done in a ‘fairly rough seas’.

CCTV footage showed that the man jumped off from his balcony.

This is not the first time a person jumped from the luxury ship. In 2018, a 22-year-old man living with autism also jumped into the water but his body was never found.
