Transport authorities gear up for ‘Undas Holiday’ 

Transport officials spearheaded the inspection of public transport facilities ahead of the Undas holiday as part of the preparations for the influx of passengers.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal said they are expecing a  10-percent increase in passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA 3) this year.

Records show that 1.3 billion passengers travelled through NAIA last year. This is for the entire 10-day Undas period.

Airport officials said that they are anticipating the increase of passengers on October 31 or November 1.

The MIAA said  more x-ray machines and Explosive Trace Devices (ETD) will be put the airport.

Queuing in the airport is oftentimes caused by ETDs in Europe and the United States, officials said.
