A man from another Gulf country is on trial in Fujairah on charges of slapping a little boy on the face on the grounds he felt embarrassed when the kid opened the toilet door while the defendant was inside.
The unidentified man confessed in court that he slapped the child but said he did so after he was offended when the boy opened the toilet door in a Fujeirah shopping mall and started to laugh at him.
“The man told the court that the boy knocked at the toilet door but got no answer… he then managed to open the door,” the Arabic language daily Emarat Al Youm said.
“When he saw the man in an awkward position inside, the boy started to laugh at him… the man said he felt embarrassed and offended and slapped the boy.”
The paper said the judge decided to issue sentence against the defendant at next week’s court session.
