A university in Bangladesh has expelled a lawmaker after it was found out that she hired eight lookalikes to take at least 13 examinations for her.
The issue was raised when the video of private broadcaster Nagorik TV entering a testing area to confront one of the legislator’s lookalikes went viral, as per a report from Agence France Presse.
Tamanna Nusrat, a member of the ruling Awami League party, was elected to parliament last year.
Nusrat was studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree with the Bangladesh Open University (BOU).
A BOU official said Nusrat was expelled for committing a crime and that she will never be admitted again in the institution.
AFP said Nusrat could not be reached for comment.
