Aftershocks felt on social media as Filipinos in UAE share earthquake experience

After the tremor that was felt in the Northern Emirates, Filipinos in the UAE turned to social media to share their earthquake experiences.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology in the UAE reported yesterday that a 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook the southern part of Iran around 2:58 pm (UAE time) that led to tremors towards nearby countries.

It was particularly felt in Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman as well as a few parts of Dubai.

The posts and comments of Filipinos in the UAE about the tremor have sent aftershocks on social media. In the comment section of an article posted by The Filipino Times, some declared they did; others said they didn’t.

MG April Pascual Mendoza related: “Kaya pala nkahiga ako ung sinampay gumagalaw ng malakas. Pati yung rosary humahampas ng may tunog.”

Braver Tiger Mitch said, “Oo ramdam ko kanina akala ko higaan ko gumagalaw.”

Some netizens were also in disbelief when they felt the tremor.

She was not alone feeling the same thing.

Meanwhile, others however were quick to inject some humors to it.

But one comment had a different kind of frequency as some OFWs did not like the humor.

A netizen commented to the post: “Kapagka sa iyo lng mismo tumama ang lindol tignan ko makapag biro kapa ba ng ganyan.”

Another commented: “Sorry OFW ka ba?

No damages have been reported as of press time.
