Unidentified thieves emptied nearly Dh390,000 of a woman’s bank account after she revealed to them account details when she was told she had won a big cash prize.
The woman immediately divulged her bank account passwords and other details when she was told by a caller that she had won a large sum of money and he just needed account details to transfer the funds to her account.
A few days later, she got a shock when she was told by the bank that nearly Dh390,000 had been transferred out of her account.
Police could not trace the fraudsters and a court decided to acquit 7 suspects for lack of evidence.
