Dubai’s police arrested three thieves just after returning to the UAE to recover stolen items they had hidden with the help of an accomplice.
Police had launched a manhunt for the thieves just after a watchman at the burgled villa reported that thieves had broken in and stole items worth Dh219,000.
Police managed to identify the accomplice who lives in Dubai and agreed to help conceal the stolen items for Dh3,000.
Newspapers said that the three thieves, who stole jewelry and expensive watches, returned to Dubai after a while to recover the loot.
Just after their return, police arrested the three at the airport and forced them to guide recover most of the stolen items, they said.
In court, the four were sentenced to three years in prison after they were convicted of burgling many villas in Dubai.
