Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde, who has recently quit his post, is now included in the list of complaints filed against 13 policemen labeled as “ninja cops,” police officials accused of recycling illegal drugs to have them sold again.

The PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) filed an amended complaint to the Justice Department which has reopened its investigation on the 13 policemen involved in a Pampanga drug raid in 2013.

Albayalde quit his post last week ahead of his retirement over accusations he gained from the illegal operation.

“At least, I will be accorded due process now,” Albayalde said.

The ninja cops allegedly took off 160 kilograms of shabu after a drug raid in Mexico, Pampanga.

The CIDG also amended its complaint in 2014 adding witnesses like barangay officials in the town.

Also in the complaint was the result of the Senate investigation which found respondents guilty of drug and corruption charges.

The DOJ panel will now give time to the respondents to file their counter affidavits until the next hearing on November 5. (TN)
