Taguig City has recently opened its first-ever teacher’s lounge.

The new lounge is located at EM’s Signal Village Elementary School (EMSVES) in Central Signal, Taguig City.

The lounge has an entertainment area, lounge, pantry and a conference room.

“Good morning! Binuksan natin kahapon ang ating first TLC Teachers’ Lounge sa EM’s Elementary School sa Signal Village,” Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano said in a Facebook post.

He said he hopes more schools will have this lounge for teachers’ well-being.

“Magkakaroon lahat ng ating public schools nito dahil para patuloy na manguna ang Taguig sa edukasyon, dapat patuloy din ang makabuluhang mga programa hindi lang para sa ating mga estudyante pero para din sa ating mga guro,” he said.

Cayetano said the city recognizes that our self-sacrificing teachers need a reprieve from their immense workload.

“The Teachers’ Lounge is a space where they can eat, unwind, bond with each other and conduct meetings,” Cayetano explained.
