A drug smuggler was caught at the Dubai International Airport after 765 tramadol pills were found on his luggage.
Customs inspectors said that the man stashed the illegal drugs in bags of food.
The man works as an electrician and has been detained since he arrived last August.
He denied the charge filed at the Dubai Court of Instance.
The customs official said that some airport officials prompted them about a suspicious luggage.
“When I searched his bag, I found a large quantity of tramadol pills carefully hidden in bags of food,” the official told the Court said.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Anti-Narcotics General Directorate. The Court will decide on October 23.
