The Dubai Court of First Instance has charged a taxi driver guilty of murder after he stabbed his roommate to death.
Court records showed that the incident took in Al Muraqqabat on June 11.
The Pakistani taxi driver stabbed his roommate multiple times and killed him on the spot.
One of witnesses heard the victim screaming.
“I saw the defendant holding a knife and stabbing the victim. I grabbed him and could stop him from further stabbing the man,” the witness said.
The suspect said that ‘it just happened’ when asked on why he decided to stab the victim.
“The victim was spotted lying on his back in the bedroom with multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. He was already dead,” the police report said.
The suspect was seen sitting outside the room of the crime scene and the weapon was found near the victim’s body.
The forensic report shows that the victim died due to severe internal bleeding. It was also revealed that the victim is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The trial is set to continue on October 27.
