Russian President Vladimir Putin told leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) they will not be “disappointed” as they signed billions of dollars worth of deals during his visit.
Putin was welcomed by Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday. The Russian leader flew in following another visit in Saudi Arabia.
The Crown Prince and Putin signed six agreements including investments in Russian and Emirati’s wealth funds.
The deals were worth over $1.3 billion and focus on energy, technology as well as health.
“You will not be disappointed by your Russian partners,” Putin told UAE leaders.
In a tweet, the crown prince said the visit marks renewed and stronger ties between Russia and UAE.
“This historic visit reflects the strength of UAE-Russia relations, which we will continue to jointly promote at all levels for the mutual benefit of our nations,” Abu Dhabi’s rown prince said.
