Kidapawan City has experienced an Intensity 7 earthquake after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit North Cotabato.
No details yet on the quake damage to the city and casualties.
“No reports even in the outskirts, so far so good, I hope magpapatuloy,” Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista told ABS-CBN News.
The Kidapawan mayor also suspended classes tomorrow to assess the structural integrity of the schools and buildings.
The police were deployed to assist residents affected by total blackout.
“We’re watching for possible, baka may looters na papasok, so naka-mobilize na ang mga kapulisan natin,” Evangelista said.
The mayor also compared the earthquake to a roller coaster.
“Yung yugyog po para bang may dumadaan na pison na roadroller, napakalakas po,” Evangelista described.
