The Abu Dhabi Police issued a reminder to motorists that stopping your vehicles in pedestrian crossings can endanger or threaten someone’s life.

In a tweet posted Wednesday, the Abu Dhabi Police said “stopping your vehicle on the pedestrian crossing threatens lives”.

Early this year, Abu Dhabi has promised to make roads safer for pedestrians.

Radars were installed at pedestrian crossings to catch law violators.

Drivers who stop and park their car on a pedestrian crossing will be subjected to Dh500 fine.

Authorities will fine those drivers with Dh400 who will stop in a way that endangers people’s lives while crossing the road.

The Abu Dhabi Police, however, reminds residents to cross in the right pedestrian crossings.
