Drug dealer resists arrest, attacks policemen with a wild dog

A man is facing 13 years of imprisonment and a hefty fine of Dh20,000 after he resisted arrest and attacked a police officer on duty with a wild dog.

The Fujairah Criminal Court of Appeal said the drug dealer possessed illegal narcotics as well as a knife and attacked the arresting officers with a dog.

The policemen went to the suspect’s house after receiving a tip that he is possessing huge amounts of illegal drugs.

When the policemen entered his house the man released a dog to maul the arresting officers. Police officials however managed to escape.

The suspect also tested positive for illegal drugs.

The drug dealer appealed the decision to the Fujairah Court of Appeals but the decision to imprison the man for 13 years was upheld.
