19-year-old sentenced to six months in prison following stabbing incident

The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced an Emirati teenager to six months in prison after stabbing a student on the waist during their fight over the girl.

The 19–year old and two other minors, confronted the victim at the mall, where he ordered the victim to go outside. There, the suspect then stabbed the student on the street.

Police were able to identify and apprehend the three through CCTV footage.

Authorities also witnessed the victim run back at the Dubai Mall before collapsing, and he was then rushed to hospital immediately after.

The suspect admitted that the stabbing incident was because of a girl. The 19–year-old failed to enter a plea against a charge for attempted murder while the other two were referred to Dubai Juvenile Court.
