A 20 year-old fisherman has died after a crocodile attacked him in Balabac, Palawan.
The Palawan Provincial Police said the attack happened while the man, identified as Junick Husin, was on his boat and catching squid.
“Dahil malaki itong buwaya ay tumaob po yung kanilang bangka at pagkataob nitong bangka, nasakmal po itong isa, itong biktima,” the Palawan Provincial Police Office told ABS-CBN News.
His companion was able to escape. Residents reportedly saw the crocodile eating the victim.
“Opo, nakuha po sa bibig at talagang eventually po ay pinatay po nila itong buwaya para po makuha ito pong biktima na ito,” the police added.
This is the fifth time a crocodile attacked a person in the Balabac town of Palawan.
