Some 82 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan have returned to the Philippines following their company’s shutdown.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) received the repatriated workers upon their arrival.
OWWA said the workers have been jobless for three months and the company tried offering voluntary resignation before deciding to close.
OWWA added that it will continue to assist Filipinos abroad who are seeking repatriation.
The government said it will ensure that their wages will be given to the 82 OFWs.
