A policeman is seeking Dh21,000 damages from two Asian men for assaulting him while trying to arrest them for their involvement in a fight.
The cop was ordered by his commanding officer to go to Qadissiyya neighborhood to stop a fight involving several Asian men.
When he tried to arrest two of them, they attacked the cop and swore at him, prompting him to call for backup.
A police force arrived and arrested the two on charges of causing a fight in the area, according to newspapers.
In court, the cop demanded a Dh21,000 compensation for injuries he sustained in the fight, they said, adding that the judge adjourned the session to Oct 27.
