Instead of a better life, man enslaved Filipina, son after luring them to US

A high school teacher in Wisconsin is facing felony charges at the Milwaukee County Court for enslaving a Filipina and her son after luring them to the US by promising her marriage and a better life.

Christian Mothershead, 46, was arrested in August for two counts of human trafficking and one count of sexual assault. He was able to post bail in September.

They met on the site asiandating in June 2017. A month later, Mothershead traveled to the Philippines to woo the Filipina and her family, painting a rosy picture of a beautiful life in the US.

But immediately after arriving in the US in November 2018, the American forced the unnamed Filipina and her son to clean his house heaving with rotten garbage, reported the Journal Sentinel.

When the Filipina refused, he allegedly threatened not to give them food and water and to send them back to the Philippines.

The teacher also sexually assaulted the Filipina on the first night of their stay in his house.

Mothershead denied charges against him. He is set to be back in court this October. (MN)
