A 14-year-old student in Indonesia who came to school late died after collapsing while running around the school’s field as a punishment for his supposed tardiness.
According to a report by AsiaOne, the student was identified as Fanly Lahingide.
The report said that Lahingide and his five other friends were instructed by their teacher to run around the school’s field for coming to class late last Friday.
Lahingide was in the second lap of the run when he passed out.
Lahingide was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead by attending physician.
According to the report, the boy’s family will file a case against the teacher.
The student’s 46-year-old mother asked the police to investigate the incident and is hoping that such an incident will not happen again.
