Ajman blocks 16 drug-dealing websites

Ajman police have blocked 16 websites suspected to be promoting drugs and other crimes in the emirate, a senior police officer has said.

The emirate’s “E-police patrols” have taken action against those websites in the past year in coordination with the UAE Federal Authority for Combating Drugs, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and other concerned parties.

“Owners of those websites have thought that by using fake names they will succeed in cheating the police… but our men are so experienced that they have uncovered their dubious activities and blocked their sites,” said Colonel Saif Khalifa Al Muhairi, director of the Drugs Combating Division in Ajman’s police.

Quoted by the official daily Albayan, he said the Department is “mobilizing all its resources” to fight drugs in the emirate and create public awareness.

He urged the public to cooperate with the police in fighting narcotics by reporting any suspected website or activity on social media networks.
