Mocha Uson appointed OWWA deputy executive director

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson as the new deputy executive director for the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

A list of new appointees released by Malacañang showed that Uson was  appointed on September 23.

She was at the hearings at the House of Representatives on the creation of an OFW department where she bewailed that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are only remembered during elections.

“Kayat sila po ay tinuturing na mga bagong bayani, pero wala silang sariling departamento? Parang bayani lang sila tuwing election,” Uson asked last month. Uson went on sharing her experience as a former OFW. She was an entertainer in Doha, Qatar.

“Sabi nga po sa Facebook, sana wag lang puro hearing sana may mangyari na,” she said.

Uson quit her post last year over accusations of allegedly proliferating fake news.  (TT)
