Motorists in Kuwait commit an average 625 traffic offences every hour and speeding accounts for most of the violations, a newspaper reported on Monday.
A total 4 million traffic offences have been recorded so far this year, an average 15,000 violations daily, Alqabas said, citing police data.
“This means that drivers commit an average 600 offences every one hour despite intensified police campaigns against traffic offenders,” the paper said.
Speeding offences totaled 2.3 million, followed by jumping the red lights and driving on hard shoulders outside the road. The report showed that police have seized nearly 30,000 vehicles whose drivers committed serious road offences.
It showed that men were less respectful of traffic rules, committing nearly 2.35 million offences while women committed around 1.7 million offences.
