Pinoy-Japanese sumo wrestler wins Emperor’s Cup in Tokyo

Filipino-Japanese sumo wrestler Mitakeumi Hisashi wins the grand title at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo for the second time. 
 
Hisashi defeated Takakeisho in the prestigious Emperor’s Cup. The Pinoy-Japanese wrestler first won the title in 2018.
 
The sumo wrestler also received the Outstanding Performance Prize Award. Hisashi has a Japanese father and Filipino mother. 
 
Hisashi hopes to become an ozeki, the sport’s second highest rank. The 26-year-old wrestler is currently ranked as sekiwake.
 
The Japanese Times report that Hisashi will compete at the Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament in Fukuoka on November.
