An Arab woman is on trial in Sharjah on charges of swearing at her husband in a message she sent him on his mobile phone.
The unnamed woman said she did not see any offence in the expression she sent her husband and that he had insulted her because she filed for divorce.
“The wife admitted that she sent those words to her husband on WhatsApp but told the court that she did not consider them as an insult,” the Arabic language daily Emarat Al Youm said.
“She said she only sent them after her husband provoked her and offended her after she filed for divorce in another court.”
The paper said the judge adjourned hearings to Oct 15.
