The Federal Supreme Court (FSC) abolished a two-month jail sentence for a girl accused of swindling money from four people after they dropped the charges.
A court of first instance had earlier sentenced the girl at a local government office to two months in prison, prompting her to appeal.
The court of appeals upheld the verdict, but the girl appealed again with the FSC on the grounds the plaintiffs dropped the charges.
“The FSC overturned the jail sentence after her lawyer argued that the plaintiffs dropped the charges against her,” Al Khaleej daily said.
