Five alleged illegal recruiters of OFWs arrested

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Anti-Trans National Crime Unit (CIDG-ATCU) have launched multiple entrapment operations in order to arrest five alleged illegal recruiters of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

The entrapment operations were held in Manila and Quezon City, according to ABS-CBN News.

Marlyn De Leon and Precios Camara were arrested in Roxas Boulevard, Manila while transacting for OFW applicants.

In a separate operation in TM Kalaw in Manila, couple Pilito and Estella Rosadino, who are being accused as illegal recruiters for aspiring seamen, were caught by authorities.

Another illegal recruiter was caught in Caloocan City through an arrest warrant.

“Not registered sa POEA, so illegal silang mag operate,” the PNP CIDG-ATCU told ABS-CBN News.

The CIDG said that these illegal recruiters are part of a bigger syndicate that operates nationwide.

The arrested illegal recruiters will be facing estafa and large scale illegal recruitment charges.
