Toilet seat worth $5 million stolen from London palace

A toilet seat made of 18-carat-gold was stolen from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire over the weekend, it was gathered.

According to a CNN report, the toilet seat was worth $5 million and was showcased in an art exhibit by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan titled, “Victory is Not an Option.”

In a separate report, the Associated Press (AP) said the toilet seat had been installed only two days ago at Blenheim Palace, west of London after it was displayed at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Police said the thieves used at least two vehicles in stealing the toilet seat.

The theft caused significant damage and flooding in the building because the toilet seat was connected to the palace’s plumbing system.

The report said a 66-year-old man was arrested in the case but has not been identified or charged.

Police are reviewing closed-circuit TV footage as part of the investigation.
