Relative of OFW maltreated in Saudi Arabia seeks help

An Overseas Filipino worker (OFW) worker in Saudi Arabia has reportedly stopped communicating with her family for three weeks now.

Elizabeth Cabrera, aunt of Lilibeth, narrated to ABS-CBN News of the horrible experience of maltreatment that her niece was going through in her work as a household service worker.

According to Elizabeth, Lilibeth’s boss allegedly doesn’t pay her and only allows her to eat once a day.

“Takot na takot na siya kaya po ako nag-decide na talagang humingi ng help,” Elizabeth said.

She got more worried when their communications stopped three weeks prior, until present.

“Hanggang ngayon wala pang, parang missing. Hindi na po alam gagawin namin,” Elizabeth said as per ABS-CBN news report.

Elizabeth Cabrera went to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and to Prime Goal International Manpower, Lilibeth’s agency to seek assistance.

According to OWWA, they have already endorsed Elizabeth’s request at the labor office in Saudi Arabia.
