Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin has expressed concern on the impact of the attacks on Saudi Arabia oil facilities.
Locsin said on Twitter that these attacks might trigger an oil shortage and could deeply affect the Philippines.
“This is serious. It will— not could — affect us deeply; to put it bluntly, an oil shortage or steep rise in oil price will rock the Philippine boat and tip it over,” Locsin said in a tweet.
“So everybody shut up and focus. No more clowns. Declaring state of emergency won’t save our economy but kill it,” he added.
Experts said that the attack on key Saudi Arabia processing plants will test the world’s ability to handle a supply crisis because the world will lose 5% crude supply from its biggest exporter.
The attacks happened over the weekend.
