Womanizer held in Dubai for extortion, deception

Dubai’s police arrested a 29-year-old Arab man who cheated many women into believing he would marry them just to steal their money.

Posing as a telecommunication engineer, the man confessed to have stolen large sums of money from several female victims, including a Brazilian.

The latest victim was an Arab from the same country and she reported the defendant only when she realized that he would not marry her and that his promises were only to extort money from her.

Although the woman has just come to the UAE to take up a job, he persuaded her to travel back home and wait for him to prepare for their wedding.

“He convinced her to give him her bank credit card… he kept withdrawing money from her account and telling her the money is for their marriage… he stole at least Dh200,000 from her before she told her father who asked her to fly back to Dubai and inform the police,” Emarat Al Youm daily said.
