Boy sparks panic in class for bringing grenade

A boy from Sweden created panic among his friends and classmates in Swedish pre-school after he brought a grenade he found on the military firing range.

The boy arrived at the school with a grenade in his hand to show it to his friends, local officials said as per Agence France Presse.

A teacher who saw the grenade immediately informed the police who responded to the school in the southern town of Kristianstad.

Authorities then blocked off the area while the national bomb squad neutralized the grenade several hours later.

The ammunition was “dangerous” that was picked up by the child at the Rinkaby firing range, located outside Kristianstad.

“We don’t know how bad the damages would have been” if it had exploded, a police spokesman told AFP.
