Five border employees sentenced to three years in jail for molestation charges

An Abu Dhabi criminal court sentenced five employees at a UAE border point to three years in prison and fined each of them Dh100,000 after they were found guilty of molesting women using the outlet.

Security cameras and mobile phones of the five employees proved they used their job to “molest women and promote vice,” the official daily Al Bayan said.

“They were convicted of molesting women and girls using the outlet in separate cases during 2018 and 2019,” the paper said.

The five have been warned by their seniors to stop such practices, but they ignored the warnings and continued to abuse their jobs, it said.

“The court considered that the five abused their jobs to molest women and encourage vice… the five were seen touching some girls and asking for their phone numbers… checking security cameras and their phones provided sufficient evidence of such obscene acts,” it added.
