A 25 year-old man in Cagayan De Oro City shot his aunt after she refused to lend him money.
She was immediately brought to the hospital and survived the incident.
Initial police reports revealed that the suspect’s aunt was talking with two of his friends when gunshots were heard.
“Napansin ng biktima ang suspek na nasa bintana ng kanilang bahay hawak ang kanyang baril,” the police told ABS-CBN News.
The police recovered a 22-mm riffle from the suspect. He said that he got mad when his aunt refused to lend money to his wife who was the caretaker of her store.
“Hindi ko naman talaga siya papatayin, gusto ko lang siyang takutin dahil ‘di niya pinautang ang asawa ko,” the suspect said.
The victim is determined to file attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms charges against the suspect.
