Female bomber blows herself up at military checkpoint in Sulu

Another bomb explosion took place in Indanan, Sulu.

The military said that the bomb attack was carried out by a woman, who was the lone fatality in the bombing.

“Due to the austere security measure and sustained cooperation by the community, ground forces thwarted a bomb attack on a military detachment in Barangay Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu at 5:45pm today, September 8. The bomber was a lone fatality,” the military said in a statement.

The suicide bomber was in Abaya attire and a foreign looking woman with long hair.

Military officials also obtained the triggering device used by the woman.

“We call on every Suluanon to remain vigilant and to report suspicious items and personalities to authorities,” the military said.

“We assure the public that the WestMinCom forces shall sustain our security and peace efforts to prevent hostile acts that may disrupt the peace and development in the Bangsamoro Region,” the statement ended.
