Online monitoring system for OFWs launched

Conditions of Overseas Filipino Workers can now be checked by their loved ones through the OFW Welfare Monitoring System (OWMS).
 
OWMS is web-page system that will be used by local recruitment and manning agencies to report condition of OFWs they deployed abroad, as per The Philippine Star.
 
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ordered all recruitment agencies to submit initial status of OFWs three months after their deployment.
 
There will be regular monitoring report that will be submitted in every quarter, but if there’s an significant event or incident, the recruitment or manning agency must submit within five days from the incident.
 
Agencies were given by POEA three months to submit similar reports for OFWs deployed prior the implementation of the system.
