A Canadian man has been playing the same lottery numbers for almost 20 years until Lady Luck finally smiled at him.
The long wait ended when Bon Truong of Edmonton won $60 million in the October 26, 2018 Lotto Max jackpot, Western Canada Lottery Corporation said in a report by cnn.com.
According to WCLC, Truong did not claim his prize immediately.
He told WLCL that “felt overwhelmed by the magnitude of his win,” and it was only after 10 months that he claimed the prize.
After the winning numbers were drawn, Truong went to the store and had the clerk print them. He took the numbers home and double checked them for hours.
“I realized it’s going to change a lot of things and I wanted to make sure we were all ready and prepared for those changes,” he said in the report
The winning numbers 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 20 and 30 are a combination of important dates and family birthdays, he said.
According to WCLC, Truong’s winnings tied the largest-ever Lotto Max winner in Alberta’s history. A couple won same prize in September 2017.
