Saudi banks have warned clients not to throw away ATM receipts after withdrawing funds.
The information committee in the Saudi Banks Association said throwing such receipts in the bins or other places could give others access to the client’s bank data.
“Make sure after you withdraw money from the cash point at any bank to keep your receipt and not throw it in the bin or any other place to prevent impostors from gaining access to your bank data,” it said in a statement.
The statement also advised clients withdrawing money from ATM machines to cover the screen with their hands when they enter their PIN number.
