The Philippine Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to remind Filipinos to be careful when applying for jobs on social media.
The warning comes after the embassy repatriated 23 Filipinos recently who applied for jobs without going through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
The illegally recruited Filipinos said they found the job posting on Facebook and made all the transactions there.
The 23 Filipinos stayed a while at the embassy’s “Bahay Kanlungan.”
As of now there are 410 Filipinos staying in Abu Dhabi shelters while 276 are in Dubai. Some 16 of them will be repatriated this week.
The embassy thanked the UAE government for assisting in the repatriation process.
Repatriation process lasts for months because the employee still needs clearance from the UAE government.
