Janitress speaks up on discrimination issue involving trans woman Gretchen Diez

The mall cleaning personnel involved in the alleged discrimination case against transgender woman Gretchen Diez broke her silence and told her side of the story.

Chayra Ganal, 25, said that she has been allowing transwomen to use the female restroom in the past.

But like what Senate President Tito Sotto said in a radio interview, two women approached Ganal and told her about the presence of transgender in a female restroom.

`Yung sa CR kasi po ng lalaki nakita ko du’n walang pila, walang tao,” Ganal said in an interview with pressone.ph.

The janitress said that she thought there would be no issue with Diez because there are three available cubicles inside the male’s restroom.

Diez said that she was not taking photos of Ganal but rather doing a Facebook live video.

Ganal said that Diez refused to delete the video so she decided to bring the transwoman to the mall security office.

The janitress said that she told Diez the words ‘may uten ka pa rin’ because of so much stress brought by Diez’s resistance.

At the police station, Diez’s supporters told Ganal that she has no right to do it.

She also recalled Bataan Representative Geraldine Roman telling her to ‘shut up’.

Ganal dropped the charges against Diez upon mall instructions.
