Filipina caregiver, boyfriend arrested after allegedly harassing an old woman

A Filipina caregiver and her boyfriend are now facing charges of disorderly conduct after they allegedly harassed a patient suffering from dementia at a nursing home in Glenview, Illinois.

Jamie Montesa and her boyfriend Brayan Cortez, were arrested and fired from Abington of Glenview where they are working as certified nursing assistants.

The suspects allegedly taunted 91-year-old Margaret Collin’s dislike for the hospital gown where Cortez allegedly waved the gown at Collins while Montesa filmed the incident and captioned that reads “Margaret hates gowns” with two laughing emojis, as per a report from ABS-CBN news.

The video clip from December last year went viral and circulated on the messaging app, Snapchat.

The two are now facing charges before Cook County Circuit Court against Abington of Glenview wherein the family of the victims seeks $1million in damages due to violations of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
